Tax question - "doppelte Haushaltsführung" in Luxembourg  

Hello,

I am new to this forum. I will be starting a new job in Luxembourg in October, and have a permanent residence in Germany. The distance is too far to commute from my home to my workplace, so I need to look for accommodation in LU for during the week. I live together with my wife who works in Germany.

I am learning about the German tax declaration and what expenses I could deduct from it for my work in LU. My wife & I have "zusammen Veranlagung" for out German taxes as we both have been earning in Germany until now.

The question: can I deduct living expenses from having to rent a room/flat in Luxembourg under the so-called "doppelte Haushaltsführung" or not. Of course it would be good to know this before I incur these costs, as it would influence my plans.

Apologies for the question in English - but German is a second language for me.
