In case of unemployment

This might be a tough one: I am a Swedish citizen, living in Trier since January 2005 because I work in Luxemburg. I have never worked in Germany before...and even before moving to Trier I worked in the US. Never even been to a Unemplyment agency in Germany since I have a full time job in Luxemburg...

So in June 2006 I will have worked a full year in Luxemburg. I am just curious what happens if I get unemployed (I think you have to work a full year to be able to claim any unemployment money, right?)? I have never paid tax in Germany...although I am registered in Trier since January 2005.

How much money will I get? For how long? My responsibilities during the unemployment? Im just used to the Swedish system which is pretty easy: 365 days (the only count 5 days week so well over a year) with 80% of the salary you were making when you worked. You have to register at the Unemployment agency the first day of unemployment and "activly" look for other jobs (no control of this tho).....when you have used up your 365 days you have to work full time at least 6 months to get a new term. Greatful for any replies:) Thanks!

In my opinion, the situation is quite regular (as for a German citizen or EU citizen/inhabitant):

For ALG (Arbeitslosengeld), You must have been affiliated at the social security system (in an European Union member state) during the last two years before unemployment for 360 days. You must present your demand in person at the local Agentur für Arbeit, and, very important, in time (after knowing you will be unemployed).
