There are several ways to receive this allowance. None of them contains a rule on the unemployment duration. I think that you, as as Grenzgänger, can be eligible because you have been fired due to a restructuring of the company. The other way around: You are eligible for Aide au Réemploi 6 months only after the end of your contract!

Not 6 months after the end of your old contract, but 6 months after starting the new (with less pay).
